San Diego producer/DJ ESTA put on one of the best boiler room sets I’ve ever heard…not to weird…not to extreme…not to loud…sampling all types of music. If you got the time definitely listen to the whole thing.
it seems that everything Ta-Ku gets his hands on instantly becomes gold, and it’s no different with his remix of Faker’s Talk is Cheap. Completely detaching any real lyrics and instead infusing scant lyrics layered over a building percussion. What starts as a somber tone builds up into an eruption of emotion around the half way point and continues through the song. Ta-ku really knows how to convey emotions through his building beats and sounds, and this is why so many people love his music. Take a listen for yourself and you’ll know what I mean…
SBTRKT links up with long time collaborator and fellow Brit Sampha who sings over the instrumental “Resolute” from the Transitions EP, from earlier in the year. A classic collab of Sampha’s soft smooth vocals with SBTRKT’s experimental synth based electronic production. Take a listen below to TEMPORARY VIEW via soundcloud.
Not sure how I missed this….anyways its dope. 20syl one of my favorites DJ’s who never disappoints hooks up with Oddisee for this track and it really shows his production skill. 20syl one of the four DJ’s consisting of the French Turntablism group C2C, has been releasing a lot of his own material lately and has been featured on KillaStatic numerous times. Anyways, take a listen to his new track and enjoy.
Listen to Disclosure funky remix of the 2003 single Frontin, that fits Pharrell’s style perfectly and be ready to groove. Also like Disclosure on Facebook as they are offering a free download if they reach 1 million likes.
Always got my eyes out for anything with the name Disclosure tied to it, whether that be a remix, original piece, or collaboration. This collaboration perfectly encompasses Disclosure’s UK garage sound and is definitely easy to get jiggy with. The video is pretty interesting as well.
Metic, “an independent producer based in Hong Kong”, did an excellent rework on Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg’s classic Nuthin’ but a ‘G’ Thang. Perfect way to start off your summer with some mellow guitar vibes mixed in with some gangsta rap. Listen below.
GANZ a producer out of Amsterdam, Netherlands has been delivering incredible flips for over a year now. Previous flips include “Tell Me” by RL Grime and What So Not, Hermitude and Flume’s “Hyperparadise”, AlunaGeorge’s “Superstar”, and many more. His most recent flip of A$AP Rocky’s Ghetto Symphony arguably is one of his best yet, utilizing the original drop in the song as his drop but delivering something you would not expect. Take a listen below and scroll through his soundcloud page. The download link is available under the song.
