A$AP Mob – Hella Hoes + Hot 97 Freestyle

A$AP Mob members Rocky, Ferg, Nast, and Twelvyy released a new single this week titled Hella Hoes and ironically it seems to be exactly what Tyler the Creator is making fun of in his Loiter Squad skit I Just Bought a New Bugatti (I’m Happy). However, it is still a banger and will be featured on A$AP Mob’s upcoming album L.O.R.D which is set to be released sometime this year, no confirmed date yet. While promoting their new single Hot 97 had the Mob over and Funkmaster Flex played “Who Shot You?” instrumental by Biggie while all members dropped in for a verse. Most notably Ferg and Rocky rapping back and forth and poking fun at 50 cent. Take a listen to both.

Hot 97 Freestyle

Favorites (11/24-12/1)

These are my favorite tracks from the last week. However, not necessarily released this last week.

5. Flume- Insane ft. Moon Holiday (L D R U Remix)

This song has ought to be one of the damn greatest flume remixes out to this date. Part of their recently new album Flume: Deluxe Edition.

4. Arcade Fire- You Already Know

The much hyped Reflektor album released in late October by Arcade Fire, has received great acclaim. This song has to be one of my favorites on the whole album. Glad to see this band putting out some new hits. Would not doubt an appearance from Arcade Fire at Coachella 2014.

3. A$AP Ferg- “Shabba” Remix ft. Shabba Ranks, Busta Rhymes & Migos

A$AP Ferg’s Shabba getting a nice spin to it with added verses from Busta Rhymes and Migos. The original, which basically put A$AP Ferg on the map, showed many people the Trap Lord has great potential and should not be viewed in the shadows of Rocky. Another, Coachella hopeful, definitely a possibility with his breakout year.

2. Death Grips- Whatever I Want (Fuck Who’s Watching)

Death Grips the trio mix of hip- hop and experimental electronic music just released their fourth album and I am loving it. “Whatever I Want (Fuck Who’s Watching)” portrays to me that Death Grips are going to make the music they want to make their dont care who is watching. At first listen, this might just sound like noise. Listen to the full song, and watch the video then judge it.

1. Flume and Chet Faker- Drop the Game

Yes, I feel wrong posting Flume on this list twice. But, this must be an exception. The Australian duo is making quite the noise with the EP “Lockjaw” recently released. “Drop the Game” is more of Chet Faker’s style with heavy vocals but Flume’s smooth effortless electronic hooks really complete the song.
