Favorites (11/24-12/1)

These are my favorite tracks from the last week. However, not necessarily released this last week.

5. Flume- Insane ft. Moon Holiday (L D R U Remix)

This song has ought to be one of the damn greatest flume remixes out to this date. Part of their recently new album Flume: Deluxe Edition.

4. Arcade Fire- You Already Know

The much hyped Reflektor album released in late October by Arcade Fire, has received great acclaim. This song has to be one of my favorites on the whole album. Glad to see this band putting out some new hits. Would not doubt an appearance from Arcade Fire at Coachella 2014.

3. A$AP Ferg- “Shabba” Remix ft. Shabba Ranks, Busta Rhymes & Migos

A$AP Ferg’s Shabba getting a nice spin to it with added verses from Busta Rhymes and Migos. The original, which basically put A$AP Ferg on the map, showed many people the Trap Lord has great potential and should not be viewed in the shadows of Rocky. Another, Coachella hopeful, definitely a possibility with his breakout year.

2. Death Grips- Whatever I Want (Fuck Who’s Watching)

Death Grips the trio mix of hip- hop and experimental electronic music just released their fourth album and I am loving it. “Whatever I Want (Fuck Who’s Watching)” portrays to me that Death Grips are going to make the music they want to make their dont care who is watching. At first listen, this might just sound like noise. Listen to the full song, and watch the video then judge it.

1. Flume and Chet Faker- Drop the Game

Yes, I feel wrong posting Flume on this list twice. But, this must be an exception. The Australian duo is making quite the noise with the EP “Lockjaw” recently released. “Drop the Game” is more of Chet Faker’s style with heavy vocals but Flume’s smooth effortless electronic hooks really complete the song.

Jaguar (Original Mix)

What So Not (the collaboration of Australian based producers Flume and Emoh Instead) takes listeners on a visceral thrill ride with the release of their newest track “Jaguar”.  “Jaguar” harbors many of Flume’s familiar wavy, effortless synthetic rhythms and combines them with exciting trap elements to inspire one of the nastiest drops heard in awhile. Experience it for yourself above, and see why What So Not has people longing for more.
